Even in Key West there are blooms that herald the arrival of spring. Sadly, no crocuses or daffodils or tulips (sniff) but the blooming of the Shaving Brush trees is special.
It's one of those weird but wonderful once a year occurrences. First the trees lose all their leaves, then the marvelous bright pink blossoms appear on the bare branches. I will let the pictures speak for themselves since I can't find the words to describe them .
