Spring Has Sprung

Even in Key West there are blooms that herald the arrival of spring. Sadly, no crocuses or daffodils or tulips (sniff) but the blooming of the Shaving Brush trees is special.

It's one of those weird but wonderful once a year occurrences. First the trees lose all their leaves, then the marvelous bright pink blossoms appear on the bare branches. I will let the pictures speak for themselves since I can't find the words to describe them .

  2. Oh my goodness if you had only shown us that last photo I would have thought it was fake! And spray painted pink at that! What a neat plant - I just love it!
