At the turn of the 19th century, Louis Comfort Tiffany was an innovator in the use of glass for art, architecture, and interior design.

His designs were important contributions to the Arts and Crafts Movement which changed the face of design and architecture worldwide.

One hundred years later, another innovator named Dale Chihuly is making a huge impact on the world of design, also using glass.

Chihuly's work covers the spectrum from simple bowl shapes...

...to architectural towers shown here at the New York Botanical Gardens:

Chihuly's innovative chandelier designs have started a new trend in lighting, but his creations are truly one-of-a-kind, like this one in the Victoria and Albert Museum:

Using color and light like Tiffany, Chihuly has also added the aspect of three-dimensional shapes to change the way the world views glass, from ceiling art...

...to whimsical outdoor sculptures:

From Tiffany to Chihuly to Style Key West, glass has the power to inspire people with fluid shapes and luminous colors

Glass captures light and movement and looks like solid water. It's magical and inspirational. How could its incarnations
not influence art and design around the world? From famous museums to small interior design shops, glass catches eyes, induces sighs and invites us all to dream.
